Rural Financial Counsellor

A Rural Financial Counsellor supports business owners facing financial challenges. RFCs will also help the family involved in the business plan for the business future.

Our ideal candidate will be someone with strong agri business acumen and experience with agricultural enterprise. Accounting, economic or banking experience and qualifications will be of benefit.

You will be working closely with the financial counselling team to provide support and guidance to the agri business community in Western Victoria.

Key duties and responsibilities – 

  • Develop strong relationships with key community stakeholders
  • Provide financial guidance and business planning support
  • Prepare cash flows and other financial instruments as required
  • Refer clients to relevant support agencies
  • Assist clients to access grant and other programs

Ideal attributes – 

  • Self-starting and motivated; this job requires autonomy and accountability 
  • Excellent communication skills

These positions can be based in the Ballarat, Bendigo, Hamilton or Portland areas.
This job entails some travel throughout Western Victoria and working remotely from home. You will be supplied with a car and the necessary equipment to be able to operate autonomously and on location. We are a family friendly employer. The time fraction for this job is negotiable up to 1.0 FTE. Salary range is $80,000 to 90,000 per annum plus SGC based on time fraction, experience and qualifications. This position is initially for 12 months with funding extensions possible based on client demand.

A Small Business Coach/Financial Counsellor supports business owners facing financial challenges. SBFC’s will also help the family involved in the business plan for the business future.

Our ideal candidate will be someone with strong business acumen and experience with, or operating a, small business. Accounting, economic or banking experience and qualifications will be of benefit.

You will be working closely with the Small Business team and the Executive Officer to provide support and guidance to the business community in Western Victoria.

The time fraction for this job is negotiable up to 1.0 FTE. Salary range is $80,000 to 90,000 per annum plus SGC based on time fraction, experience and qualifications. Wellbeing Counsellor (north west Vic)

An RFCS Wellbeing Counsellor supports farming and business families facing challenges. They will work in conjunction with a financial counsellor to build an individual’s ability to cope with the pressures of situational distress.

Our ideal candidate will be able to provide outreach support, have a passion for helping people and be willing to innovate to provide delivery into regional areas. The successful candidate will have or be willing to develop strong referral networks into the Health industry in north west Victoria.

You will be working closely with the financial counselling team to provide support and guidance to the agri and business community in Western Victoria. Experienced and graduate practitioners are invited to enquire.

Key duties and responsibilities – 

  • Provide outreach and remote mental health counselling
  • Provide guidance and support including referrals to appropriate community agencies
  • Assist clients with ability to perform daily functions including business decision cognition
  • Assist clients to work with a specialist business financial counsellor to access grant and other programs
  • Building and maintaining support networks within the region of service

This position is to play a part in servicing North West Victoria. The position can be based anywhere in north west Victoria including close to any of the following locations- Bendigo, Mildura, Horsham or Ballarat. The successful candidate will work from a home office with attendance at regional offices as required. This job entails some travel throughout Western Victoria dependent on client needs. You will be supplied with a car and the necessary equipment to be able to operate autonomously and on location. We are a family friendly employer. The time fraction for this job is negotiable up to 1.0 FTE. Salary range is $82,000 to 91,000 per annum plus SGC based on time fraction, experience and qualifications. This position is initially for 12 months with funding extensions possible based on client demand.

Operations Manager (finance, systems and governance, south west region)

RFCS Victoria West is a not for profit counselling service operating in western Victoria. We are seeking to create a new position for an Operations Manager.

We are looking for an experienced person, with demonstrated success in some or all of the following areas- finance, human resources, business systems and contract management.

You will have day to day responsibility for aspects of the business operations dependent on your experience and skill set. You will work closely with the EO on the identification and maintenance of operational and strategic business objectives.

You will be working closely with the admin team and Executive Officer to provide support and guidance to the organisation.

Key duties and responsibilities – 

  • Oversight of accounting function for the organisation
  • Ensuring compliance requirements are met across contracts
  • You will assist the EO to meet Board governance requirements and administration
  • Assist with recruitment and other HR functions
  • Project management

Marketing & Communications Officer

An opportunity exists for an enthusiastic marketing all-rounder, with a passion for digital.

In this role, you will have responsibility for all social media channels, webpage development and promotional material production. You will use your knowledge to produce relevant content, to generate leads and to build awareness. 

Our ideal candidate will be someone from a strong digital/social media background with some experience in print and online advertising. The candidate will demonstrate good copywriting skills and an artistic flair to be applied across our Facebook, print media and electronic media platforms. Some grant submission writing experience is also possible for a suitably qualified applicant.

You will be working closely with the Communications coordinator to produce, consistent multi platform messaging, a content schedule and dynamic electronic delivery strategies.

Key tasks – 

  • Ability to plan and create engaging social content
  • Experienced in SEO and PPC activities, with strong communication and copywriting skills
  • Understanding of print and digital advertising; ability to develop briefs and direct graphic designers and web designers/developers 
  • Document production
  • Updating and maintaining our CRM with product and client information to enhance delivery markets and strategies
  • Updating and managing the front end of the website with new content and product information.

This job entails some travel throughout Western Victoria and working remotely from home. Position location is negotiable with some work to be done out of our Hamilton office and the rest on location/remotely. We are a family friendly employer. The time fraction for this job is negotiable up to 0.6FTE initially. Salary range is $50,000 to 60,000 per annum pro rata based on time fraction, experience and qualifications. The position is currently funded till June 30, 2023 with an extension possible based on service needs and funding.
